Question

Unable to move/delete messages and add calendar events MS Exchange/Outlook

Can anyone help me...
I recently had to move my Exchange server to a new box.  I setup the server as per Microsoft's instructions, restored a backup of the store and then ran the ESUTIL across the databases.
Both the first and second stores mount ok and users are able send and receive messages ok.
Most users are able to delete messages and add calendar events but for some unknown reason a random number of users can't.
The only difference between this server and the old is its IP address although I have updated all DNS settings.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

It looks as though there may be some corruption in the mailbox.
Can you try with one user, exporting all the mail/calendar/contacts to PST using Outlook delete the mailbox and re-create it then re-import the mail.

Then try again and see if it works.

I will have a go at close of business today, my only concern is that there are quite a few users within the organisation that have this issue and I really don't want to have to do this for 40 or so mailboxes.

It's worth just checking if it fixes it.

by: wilmslowhighcheshirePosted on 2009-11-05 at 01:21:31ID: 25747807

tried this and it worked but rather than doind this for all the corrupt mailboxes I ran ISINTEG, all working fine now so thank you for pointing me in the right direction of corruption!

by: demazterPosted on 2009-11-05 at 05:16:04ID: 25749038

I stated in comment ID: 25727675 that it was corruption in the mailboxes and asked for a test to be done.

Had the author returned and advised this worked then ISINTEG would have been the next port of call.
