I'd give PowerGUI a try. I've had great luck with exporting Active Directory attributes using the AD powerpack. The Exchange 2003 PowerPack may just be the thing for you:

Browse All TopicsCurrently I am working in an Exchange 2003 native environment that houses 26 servers. I would like to consolidate these servers into 6. Mailboxes stored on these 6 servers will be determined by geographical region and mail size. There are over 2000 mailboxes scattered over the 26 servers; therefore, I would like to have a printout of mailboxes that lists its size and location in the AD OU. I am assuming a script will need to be created to achieve this task; however, I know very little about scripting. Could someone provide me with the right coding or direct me to a site that lists examples on the task I am trying to perform?

Exchange and AD are pretty integrated so I believe you would need both components. The application ships with Exchange 2007 connectivity, however there are optional PowerPacks you can download from the PowerGUI website, one of those listed under Communication is for Exchange 2003.

you can use esm to view the mailboxes within a database
from there you can right-click and export to a text file
depending on the number of mailbox database this might be easier
