Thanks! Just to confirm: By wiping, do you mean deleting the user from the BB Manager, or is there a better (or more proper) way than this.
Thanks,
Bob

Browse All TopicsI have been running Blackberry Professional Server version 4.1.4.17 with My 2007 Exchange server with out issue for some time now.
A user just purchased a new Storm 2 model 9550 (with the enterprise package), and I am having a few issues with this. I activated the Storm2 with our Pro server as usual, and It looked to activate with out issues.
The storm 2 can wireless sync email no problem. It is not able to wireless sync contacts, calander, and tasks.
Also, when Storm 2 hit "Reply to" on an email message it displays an error
"No Message Service Configured. You will only be able to Save Draft".
What's strange, if you hit OK to this error message, it will allow you to type your replay, and when you manually goto the menu & hit send, the message is send (and is delivered - I tested this).
I am curious if my BB Professional Server 4.1.4.17 is too old to work with the Storm 2's?
If so are the upgrades free from BB, or do I have to pay for the upgraded version??
Also, If I upgrade, will the older BB handheld unit still function as they should?
Thanks!
Bob

Wipe the blackberry itself first (make sure you backup the entire blackberry device using Desktop Manager), then remove the user from BES and readd:
The following method takes the Storm to factory default....careful if you have installed any updates...
Options menu
Security Options
General Settings
Menu
Wipe handheld
Enter password ("Blackberry" or your business-assigned security password)
Thanks!. I advised the user of the Storm 2 that I was going to wipe the phone & try again. The said user became nervous. Said user noticed there were updates for the phone, so we decided to update the handheld first & see.
The updates corrected the issue, so all is well again in the universe.
Thanks!

No, your BES 4.1.4 should be able to handle Storm with no problems. You won't be able to use some of the features like HTML email unless you upgrade to 5.x but you should be ok to work with it normally. We have Storms in our organization and they work fine.
I'd troubleshoot the device itself, make sure it is upgraded with the latest firmware and everything is set on it. If it is a new phone try wiping the device and reactivating it.
