Asked by shelzmike in Exchange Email Server, SBS Small Business Server
Quick question. An executive has asked me to add a contact to the GAL. We are running SBS 2003 and here is what I did, but I am not sure I did this correctly.
In AD users and computers: Right-Click, New, Contact.
Here is where I get a little confused. The mini-wizard asks me for First, Initials, Last, Full Name and Display name. I add all that accordingly. The next screen is where I get confused a little. I do not want to give the contact an exchange mailbox, I simply want to add an outside email address and have the contact display in the Global Address List. What do I need to do here? What I did was leave create exchange mailbox checked (I could not get it to display in the GAL otherwise) and click modify next to email address and enter his email address and select SMTP as type. Everything shows up correctly now, but he has an exchange mailbox. Does he have to? That seems a bit ridiculous to me.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
