Dear experts,
Recently we are experiencing a bit of problem with our Exchange backup. Its Exchange 2003 and we use Symantec Backup Exec 11d. We are doing brick-level backup.
Backup has failed for the last few days. The error message is "The backup of the item is bad". We had seen this message before in the past, and the program did tell you which email was corrupted thus we were able to locate the exact message and remove it.
However, when I expand the log this time we can only see a "string" of alphanumerical code instead of the owner of the mailbox, something like this :-
Warning: "\\Exchange\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\A6054557FG......
..." is a corrupted file. I didn't put the whole code here as that would be pointless.
Is there a way to find out what the code (or whatever ID it is) actually means? Any way to find which mailbox it is referring to?
Although the status of the backup says FAILED, but it looks like it has backup 30Gb+ of data so I guess the backup has actually completed successfully bar this one message. Am I correct?
Thank You for your help.
