We've upgraded our organization from 2003 to 2007 and quite successfully actually. Now I am at the point where I need to uninstall Exchange 2003 and remove this server from the organization. All steps are done, mailboxes, public folders, routing settings, etc, etc.
When I attempt to uninstall Exchange, it errors saying:
"The component 'Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services' cannot be assigned the action 'Remove' because: - One or more users currently use a mailbox store on this server. These users must be moved....."
The only users left when I go to Mailboxes under my 2003 server are SMTP{SERVER_NAME,{GUID}}, System Attendant, and SystemMailbox{GUID} as in the attachment. If I perform Exchange Tasks on one or any of these mailboxes, the "Select task to perform" window is blank.
Any help will be much appreciated.

this will automatically get rid off mailboxes, as it is on server level not with org level,
but yes you need to remove the public folder replica of Exchange 2003 server,
and delete the routing group connector from E2k7 using power shell.
if you have upgraded the Recipient policy then you should not be face any issue ...
