Browse All TopicsI know where to go to turn on/off smtp logging in exchange system manager, however, even though the GUI shows that the IIS SMTP logging is unchecked the server is still generating huge log files in:
C:\WINNT\system32\LogFiles
So the question is, does anyone know how to turn off IIS SMTP logging from the registry or metabase or other configuration files?
Thanks!

You shouldn't touch the IIS metabase with Exchange installed. You could cause Exchange to lose its integration with IIS.
Its a clear indication of possible metabase corruption. Usually that is seen when a change it made to the recipient policies (such as adding a domain) but it doesn't work. Exchange makes the change which is passed to IIS manager.
You could try looking in the IIS metabase using the tools in the IIS reskit, but there is no guarantee that will resolve anything.
I wouldn't restore the IIS metabase mainly because you have no idea when the problem started.
