Please go through the attached file how to configure outlook anywhere in Exch-2k7 & see which in which place you are missing. Both @client & server end.
Hope following thoroughly should be fine.

Browse All TopicsHey Guys,
I am trying to setup outlook anywhere....so I can connect to the exchange server from home...without using IMAP.
I installed RPC/HTTPS from add/remove programs....and then enabled outlook anywhere from the console....and then restarted the service host server...i saw that 6001, 6002, 6004 ports are there in rpc-proxy in regedit..
I went to testexchangeconnectivity.c
I can't connect from home either.
I have opened ports 6001, 6002, 6004 on the firewall as well. (is that needed?)
Please help.

You shouldn't need to make any registry changes, the server does everything for you. While my article linked to above is appropriate for Exchange 2003, on Exchange 2007 it is not required.
You said that it doesn't work on the Test Site. It should tell you why. What was the reason?
The most common errors are with the SSL certificate, or the wrong URL being set on the server and autodiscover failing to work correctly.
Simon.
Not really.
Autodiscover is also the availability service. Without the availability service you cannot use OOTO and free/busy information.
It isn't really possible to run Exchange 2007 with just some of the functionality because it is all interlinked. You will find things don't work correctly. While you may not care about autodiscover, you need to get it to work correctly if you want the server and the clients to function as designed.
Simon.
I am lacking in Exchange 2007 content, although now E2010 is out I may well write more... although I said that last year as well.
Get the SSL certificate works first. That is the main problem.

Ensure that you have autodiscover.example.com in the public DNS for your domain and as one of the names as per my blog posting.
Once you have that sorted out, ensure that you have the RPC Proxy component installed on the server and enable Outlook Anywhere. If you think it may not be correct, then disable Outlook Anywhere in Exchange, then remove the RPC Proxy component and the virtual directories from IIS. Run IISRESET and then install the proxy again and enable in Exchange.
Simon.
