External NDR's not sent to distribution group by Exchange 2007
We have a web application that is on an external server. It is setup to send copies of any NDR's to a distribution group on our Exchange 2007 server. The SMTP application is sending the NDR and it is not being rejected by Exchange. I can see the NDR in message tracking but it is never distributed to the group.
Please note that the sender name on the NDR is "postmaster@aaaa.net" which is also a valid name of another distribution group on our Exchange server.
We need to have the external NDR's sent from an address where we will receive the email to our internal distribution group and we need to receive copies of these NDR emails at the other group so that we can monitor them.
I have no idea how to actually locate the message in Exchange 2007 or figure out why it is not being distributed to the group's members.
Any help would be appreciated. Please give an answer specific to Exchange 2007 (on SBS 2008).
Thanks,
John

The log just says "RECEIVE" like any other message. I can see no differences in the Message Tracking Center from other inbound emails that are delivered.

Also, we were able to use this strategy with a group for a system message in Exchange 2003, but I suppose I can understand that it may be different and why.
Message tracking should show more than just Receive. It should show the message as being delivered.
I was under the impression it was the same with groups in Exchange 2003, although it has been some time since I looked at doing it with that version.

This is a screen shot. I have highlighted in green two messages--one to the group in question and one to the person in question. Both were delivered, and I see the same type of entry for messages that are NDR messages.

NDRs are system messages and Exchange is very picky about where they can go. You cannot send them to a public folder either. The message would come in and then stop.
In message tracking, where does the message stop?
