Exchange 2010 Backup(thing to back up )

I have got the backupEx 2010 . but i didn't fine the best help or procedure to back up my exchnage 2010 in detail from . can any one give me the best way to back up of whole exchange to back to suite for any level of failier .

exsample Exchnage mail box daily and Ad backup monthly . do we need the AD backup also in case of exchange issue ?

basically thing to backup i am really looking at (backup plan )- may be this will change the size and the company ? but generaly

Symantec backup Exex 2010 . my log also keep incresing even in the test env.ment .i hope i need to get the backup to flush the log too ?

thank you for your information . i am going to get that AD , exchange and file server agent .
currenly i don't have LTO3 tape in my server . i am thinking of getting that later . i got 250gb hard disk . just thinking of going with D to D backup and then D to Tape . is that ok ?
