Test to see if port 443 is open and exchange 2003 is listening
Trying to Active sync Droidx phone
Two part question:
1 - how do I remotely test to see if exchange 2003 is listening to port 443?
2 - if not listening, how do I setup Exchange 2003 to listen for port 443, to allow active Sync?
thx

Can you telnet to the server on 443? From an external source try telnet mail.domain.com 443
Use this cool website from Microsoft.
https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
You can get the connectivity tested provided you need to give a test account and credentials.

I did that and it does say that port 443 is not open or blocked.
How do I see whether or not it is listening in Exhcnge server?

is there not a simple way to look at Exchange to see if port 443 is setup?
Is is controlled by IIS, so you should look there. You can also run "netstat -a: from a command prompt to see what ports the server is listening on.
Forgive me, netstat-a no :

Taht took care of my problem.
Even thought 443 is a default port within Exchange, I had to hard code the SSL with 443.
It now works
