Removing Crashed Exchange2000 From Organiztaion
During the installation of Exchange2010 I got the following error:
"One or more servers in the existing organization is running Exchange 2000 Server. Please upgrade these servers to Exchange 2003 (or later) or remove them. Installation cannot proceed until existing Exchange 2000 servers are upgraded or removed"
In our exchange organization, beside Exchange2003 SP2 that is currently up and running with all roles being delegated to, we also have an old, orphan Exchage2000 that has crashed and there is no way for us to get it back up and running.
I would appreciate a step-by-step guide on how to manually and properly remove Exchange2000 with all traces from Exchange organization as well as from active directory.
Thank you,

If you follow the step by step I have posted above it will give you the exact location of the server.
>>>first try AD Sites & Services, Services Node
This does not exist in ADSI Edit, I actually followed the path in ADSI Edit whilst I was typing it in my post above.

Thanks demazter,
The path I mentioned above does not exist in EDSIEdit, it actually exist under "Active Directory Site and Services --> under View menu, click on "Show Service Node", expand Services, Microsoft Exchange, <Org Name>, Administrative Groups, <Your Admin Group>, Servers, <Orphaned server>" and I was trying to know the difference between removing the orphan Exhange2000 this way compared to removing it using ADSIEdit.

ADSIEdit resolved my issue; I precisely followed the steps outlined by demazter and was able to remove the orphan Exchange2000 afterwhich I was able to proceed with and complete the installation of Exchange2010.
Thank you AustinComputerLabs and demazter, I appreciate your help and guidance.

Just to be sure that I'm resolving my issue very carefully and safely; will the following solution have the same effect as the ADSIEdit solution that you both suggested:
"To remove an orphaned E2k server object, first try AD Sites & Services, Services Node, Microsoft Exchange, <Org Name>, Administrative Groups, <Your Admin Group>, Servers, <Orphaned server>, delete. If this doesn't work, you can follow the same pathing using ADSI Edit"
