Scanner (MFC) sending scans via email to internal users, not working with Exchange 2010 / SBS 2011

Since moving to SBS 2011 (inc Exchange 2010 SP1) our multifunction scanner/printer will no longer send emails to users. It gives a "SMTP Server has a problem" error.

Kyocera are not offering any help or documentation.

I managed to fumble my way through and got it working by setting up
Server Config / Hub Transport / Receive Connectors /
and set up a connector specifically for the scanner.

Firstly I wanted to double check if this was the correct thing to do?

Secondly, now I am having issues sending any attachments bigger than 500kb (0.5mb). As far as I can see all the limits are set to 20mb.

Can anyone shed light on to were its being blocked?

The error message I get from scanner is "Email size exceeds send capacity limit"
Im 90% sure this is an exchange issue as I've never had this before.

Thanks, I reset it up just to be sure. I used a 'custom' usage. Previously I have used internal.

I am still have issues with the size thing. Im pretty sure everything is set to 10,000kb. I may have missed something will try look else where. I think its an exchange this because I didn't have these issues before.

The error the scanner is giving me is "Email of sender is over limit"

I have the scanner set to use my email address. And my limits are set high. I've tried another users email account and it gives the same error. (Not even sure if this has anything to do with it).

Any other thoughts?
If the error is on the scanner then it's almost certain that the limit is set by the scanner. Just about every email scanner lets you set it. If you give us the model number, someone may be able to tell you how to set it.

As it's a limit on the sender, the limits on your email account are irrelevant.

I got it working by logging into the command center (not same ip login as scanner) and I found another IP address still pointing to the old server.

I updated this and it seems to have fixed the problem. Oh.. and turned off and back on again.

Very odd as it has nothing to do with send size??

I think it was just a stupid kyocera bug personally.

Answers did help, but I found problems in other area's that seemed to have solved it.
Oops, I missed your last comment. The manual in the link below is for the KM-C2525E. Scroll to " Advanced Operation for Kyocera KM-C2525E / KM-C3225E / KM-C3232E / KM-C4035E" and click View All. Then look through the list for "Send e-mail Setting". Clicking on that will give you page 186 of the manual, with the instructions. You can also download the full manual.
