Outlook 2010 showing LegacyDN

Hello,

A few days ago our main Mailstore EDB and transaction logs were both corrupted beyond repair with any available tools. As a result we used software to extract PST's from the EDB file.
At this point in the process we were running Exchange 2010 with no Rollups or SP.

I attempted to use powershell to import the PST, however there was a known MS bug that wouldnt allow this. As a result I updated to Exchange 2010 SP1, which it then allowed me to use powershell to import these mailboxes.

Once the mailboxes were imported we noticed that all of the mail imported the user had sent showed the LegacyDN in the recipient field for those messages.

(DOMAIN/cn=Recipient/cn=Username)

-Note it only shows the LegacyDN for mail imported prior to the database corruption, and also it only LegacyDN as recipient for users who werent initially migrated from Exchange 2003 about 1.5 years ago.

Any new messages sent by the users show the proper recipient.

I have tried the following:
Refresh Offline Address Book
Set the X500 address for a few users.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I agree with Pravin and here are some details about that problem and how to resolve. Basically, you need to obtain the legacyExchangeDN from the old Exchange install to be added to the new recipients as an X500 format ProxyAddress entry. It's not too bad to do, once you know what to do but it can cause a major amount of frustration for the administrator and end users

•      Here is a simple “how to” method http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2009/05/21/cannot-reply-to-old-emails-or-modify-old-calendar-items-after-pst-mail-migration.aspx

•      Here is another article that may be more helpful as well http://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/exchange-e-mail-addresses-and-the-outlook-address-cache/  a
•      Also  check out this MS forum issue that discusses it in detail as well http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/f99244d7-facf-4ad9-a83e-f6d3baa1ba8b/
•      Microsoft also makes a LegacyExchangeDN tool http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=19034 The Tool is not really needed it just makes some of the change processes a bit easier than using ADSIEdit and the above first  article shows how to use this tool as well

We added the X500 legacyDN. And we are seeing "username@domain.com" now populate in previous emails. Is it possible to get Outlook to show the Display Name rather than the full email address?  Thank you for your posts.
