Exchange 2007 SP3 install failing on an active/passive cluster

Hi,
I'm having a problem upgrade Exchange 2007 from SP2 to SP3

# I have an active/passive cluster and I’ve followed the MS instructions.
# I’ve upgraded the passive node using the setup /m:upgrade command and that completed without any problems.
# I then move the cluster over to the recently upgraded node and brought the CMS service online.
# When I then run the setup /upgradecms command it fails with the following error

The following server roles will be upgraded

    Clustered Mailbox Server

Performing Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check

Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server
    Clustered Mailbox Server         ......................... FAILED

An unexpected error has occurred and debug information is being generated: Object reference not set  to an instance of an object.

Exchange Server setup encountered an error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nige

Remove Exchange Domain Servers and Exchange Enterprise Servers security group from Active Directory Users & Computers.

Thanks for the reply.

Do I need to do anything else? I've deleted both security groups, given AD a chance to replicate and restarted the Exchange server but I still get the same error when I run the setup /upgradecms command.

Thanks
Install Exchange 2007 SP1 with an account that has the required permissions throughout your installation environment. :)

Why SP1? I'm trying to upgrade from SP2 to SP3.

I currently have SP2 installed on our Exchange 2007 infrastructure and I'm trying to upgrade to SP3. Are you saying I should try and go back to SP1 and then try SP3 again?

When I tried to upgrade to SP3 I was using the domain admin account so it has permissions everywhere.
