Out of office settings cannot be displayed in outlook outside of network.

Dear Experts,
I have a problem with out of office assistant in outlook 2007 sp3 when pc is outside of the company network, on the inside  everything is happy.
On the outside when i try to open Out of Office assistant i get an error message " your out of office assistant cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. try again later.

The exchange 2007 is a recent install by me and this problem existed from the binging of the install.
The exchange is a typical install: "all rolls in one" , no edge server.
The auto discover feature works fine inside\outside when configuring outlook accounts.
UCC SSL cert is present.
i ran "test email autoconfiguration" util in outlook just for "use autodiscover"  and
under the results tab  oof line pointed to "https://exchangesvr.domain01.local/ews/exchange.asmx"
The "exchangesvr" is the name of the server where exchange resides and the domain01 is a local ad domain.
the mx record points to  mail.fcma-ma.com.
i think the problem is because  oof is calling for Exhangesvr.domain01.local which is not present because the pc is outside of network?????? if that the problem then how do i fix this???
Thanks in advance.

This will help you.
This is for Exch2007 but the same config for 2010.
There is a txt file. download that configure your server accordingly

Try creating an A record 'autodiscover.domain.com' pointing to your external server IP as well
Hi vizoita,

A couple of questions for us to troubleshoot this:

do you have a trusted SSL certificate (from an external company like GoDaddy or Verisign) installed on your Exchange Server?
have you configured your web services URL for external access?
The Out-of-Office assistant in an Exchange/Outlook 2007+ environment is based around the Exchange Web Services API, which means the Autodiscover service needs to send down a URL to the Outlook client in order for it to talk to the Exchange web interface. If Outlook receives the wrong URL or it tries to connect and gets a certificate error, it is going to cause you numerous issues with Out-of-Office, the Availability service (for calendaring) and various other things.

Let me know on the above and we can then troubleshoot the appropriate avenue further, if necessary.

Matt,
I do have a trusted ssl cert. in place from godaddy.
As far as confgiuring web services, i confgiured OWA and outlook anywhere that works inside and outside.... well i have a problem with the outlook anywhere. When i add exchange user in outlook on the inside and use autodiscover it works but the server name it picks is "exchangesvr.domain01.local. The problem is if i take the pc outside of the network obviously it will not work.  If i add an exchange user to outlook on the outside using autodiscover then it picks "mail.fcms-ma.com"
