ExFolders on SBS2011 with exchange sp1 is not working
Hello Experts
i installed ExFolders_SP1 on SBS2011 in the BIN folder and ran the reg fix.
it starts up and lists all my mailboxes, but if I try to expand one it gives: Error: Cannot open mailbox /o=Company Name /ou=Exchange Administrative Group(FYDXXXXXXXXXXXXX)/Re cpients/cn User Name.
Now I thought that will be eay to fix, but can't find any info on this issue and no logs are generated even if I increase the level.
If I try and click on the Items Tab I get Popup box Exception getting folder contents:Value cannot be null. Parameter name: session
I also tried the ExFolders_RTM with the same result.
Regards

One other question... do you have SP1 installed on Exchange?

no that is not the error and yes sp1 is installed
This was apparently a bug which was fixed last week. Download and use the latest version:

If your account is a member of the Administrators group then it is denied full access to all mailboxes by default.

my account is not a member of the administrator group. is there any other group which my account should not be a member of?
No, but what groups is it a member of?

its strange
i did one account with only one group as member of (named exgroup with non member of)
logged in with this user ( added first in the lokale security settings with login permission)
started exfolders and now some mailbox are readable and some are not.
so i think its not a permission issue or the sbs2011 acts strage if you do something without one of those assistent craps.

Sorry, but I really don't understand what you described above.

its strange
i create a separate user account named "admin". then i create a group named "exgroup".
i added the user "admin" to the group "exgroup" so the user "admin" is only member of this group.
then i login with this user. if a user is not a member of an admin group he cant login on the server. you need to grant him permission to do that. that can be done in the local security settings with gpedit.msc.
after i login with the admin user i started exfolders. now i can expand some mailbox and some not. i get the same error with those i cant expand: "Error: Logged-on user does not have FullAccesss to this mailbox"

Grant exgroup full access permissions to all mailboxes. This is similar to how we would create a BESAdmin user for BlackBerry Express.

i would rather know why do i have to do this now..is it cause its an sbs2011 ? why was this not necessary until now
What do you mean by "now"? Did exfiles work on this exact server previously?
If not, what server version did you use it on?

i mean it works on other sbs2011 server with sp1
I'm not fully understanding you then, because first you said, "is it cause its an sbs2011?", and then you said, "i mean it works on other sbs2011 server with sp1".
I can't really know why it is working on one and not the other --- there could be any number of things which were done differently on each server.
But we have apparently solved the problem for you, haven't we?

it should work on every server without doing any changes...at least it was so until now
no my problem isnt solved
no my problem isnt solved
it should work on every server without doing any changes
That would assume that every server is an EXACT image of the other, which is certainly not the case. Determining what was modified on this particular server which is causing a workaround would be impossible to do without having full access to the server. Since I don't have that capability I cannot provide you with the "why". Instead, I've provided you with the "how".

I've requested that this question be deleted for the following reason:
nothing useful..only blabla
nothing useful..only blabla
Seriously? "Nothing Useful"?? and really... "only blabla"?? If that is how you choose to respect the time and effort provided, then I will be sure to skip over your other questions in the future.
I truly believe that this is a permissions issue which I described in my comment (http:#a38073992) above.

Here is your real solution:
Run the following shell command and you will set the permissions on all the mailboxes in your organization so that the user you specify will have FullAccess rights on all mailboxes and ExFolders will not throw that error out anymore:
Get-Mailbox | Add-MailboxPermission -User [username] -AccessRights FullAccess –InheritanceType All
Hope this helps.
