Exchange 2010 error 451 4.4.0 Temporary Authentication Failure

I'm getting an error in Exchange 2010:

Error 451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address respond with 454 4.7.0 Temporary Authentication Failure. Delivery type is SMTP Relay. In queue viewer, the status colume says "retry." We only have 2 Exchange 2010 servers. Any advice is appreciated. THX

No firewall no changes recently. There was an outage at on of the locations but the server in question is not affected. Checked config and all connectors and are fine. I think I may have resolved this by restarting the MS Exch Transport service. Monitoring now. THX

Thanks Rancy, for the quick response. I know errors like these usually require more details. Being a rookie, I try to make my questions short with just enough info. so the community can direct me slowly. LOL.
