Exchange Server 2007 Bouncing Emails back to Gmail

Been trying to figure out what is wrong with people using gmail unable to send my exchange server emails. This has been going on for sometime now.

I contacted Godaddy and they confirmed my mx records are ok.

They told me to use google webmaster tools to verify my domain which I did and then created a TEXT record on my DNS setup on Godaddy.

Contacted Godaddy again and they confirmed my text record was good.

Before I created the text record I was getting this error when sending gmail to my domain

Technical details of temporary failure:
DNS Error: DNS server returned general failure

After the text record was added I am now getting this error

Technical details of permanent failure:
Message rejected.  See http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?answer=69585 for more information.

The email is now bouncing back immediately.

IS there any firewall inbetween..Godaddy and Exchange server..?

So can you confirm from Godaddy that your domain received a email from Gmail or not.

If no then the issue is at Godaddy.

If they forwarded it and your local exchange server is not getting the email, then the issue is at firewall end..

Also once cross check your Receive connector is configured fine and also that there is no rule to block emails from Gmail.com.

ASKER

Exchange9

My cisco is running a firewall what should I open or look for there?

The funny thing is it is only one domain "GMAIL"

What should I look for in the receive connector

Not sure never setup rules

Note 2

IF the Gmail IP address is blocked then how do we fix that.
I have a cousin in Twain who uses gmail and it does not work from her email and I have a friend here in my home state 10 miles away from me and that does not work

Checked my receive connectors
I have two one for port 25 and another for port 1025

I can telnet from my remote location to the exchange server using both port 25 and 1025

Do not have any Block Ip address entries

What else to look for?
As I wrote in your other question - this is an issue with GoDaddy. The email is not even having a delivery attempt - because there is a DNS error. You need to push GoDaddy to assist you with resolving this, as they host your DNS.

Simon.
Simon,

Just hard to believe that I have a DNS problem when only GMAIL is a problem.

AS I said Godaddy has no answers.

I might try calling them again tonight and get a different person and try to get to second level support.

I am thinking that it is Google and the outgoing spam checking they do.

I just sent an email using gmail and all I did differently was change the subject matter.

I was using the word TEST in my other emails

I still have not received the email to my domain or a bounce message

Very strange.
Stop saying things like this I have had questions on this site that never got a responce
I respond to many questions every day.

I did not get a responce fast enough on my other one so I created one slightly different.

If any one complains thats too bad I will not give the one who compalins any points
It is a GMail Problem
