Hello,

Does anyone have a link to download the admin pack for Exchange Server 2010 to be installed on Windows 7.

Thanks

You typically install those from the original Exchange media *but* you can also do it from the service pack files.

Download Exchange 2010 SP3 from here:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36768

The following link shows instructions with screenshots for installing the tools using the service pack files:  http://www.petri.co.il/install-exchange-2010-management-tools-windows-8.htm

They're actually showing how to install on Windows 8 but you can follow what they're doing on Windows 7... just make sure you're trying to install on Windows 7 x64.

You can use same installation media that was used for Exchange server.
Or download Exchange server 2010 from MS site & choose Management Tools while installation leaving all other roles unchecked.

Note: You should be installation same service pack level which is your Exchange Organization is currently at. Also take care of all prereq.

This did not work. I have installed the service pack and followed the instructions given. I want to be able to administer exchange accounts from active directory users and computers.
Exactly what is it that didn't work?  I used the same process of installing the admin tools from the service pack download I referenced earlier before I posted the reply to you and it worked.  Is something missing?  Do you have any errors you can report?

I have tried again but it says im not part of the enterprise admins groups.
I have confirmed that I am part of both groups and am also a domain admin so not sure why it displays the message. See the attached image for the error message.

You have to have the correct permissions in AD in order to use the exchange tools.  Those permissions are what is required in order to be able to read AD & Exchange.

Please can you advise of permissions I need. I am a member of the domain admin group, the scheme admin group and enterprise admin group. Do I need to be a member of any of the exchange groups?
Organization Management is for all of exchange
"I want to be able to administer exchange accounts from active directory users and computers. "

Not possible.
There are no Exchange tabs for Exchange 2007 and higher. All user management is done through EMC only. If you have tabs on another machine then you have Exchange 2003 management tools installed - those should NOT be used to manage Exchange 2010 users, as it will break the user properties.
