Receiving Email Exchange 2010

I am having a problem with our Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2003 coexistence. Our exchange 2003 server has been in place working perfectly. I just added a Exchange 2010 server to the domain. I added one test mailbox . I can send email internally to a 2003 mailbox and externally to yahoo account but can’t receive email into the test mailbox(2010) both internally from a 2003 mailbox or externally.

-- Make sure that you have a routing group connector between the Exchange 2003 and 2010.
Get-RoutingGroupConnector| FL

-- Also make sure that you don't have smart host configured on the SMTP virtual server.

-- If still facing issue delete RGC between Exchange 2003 and 2010 and recreate it using the New-Routinggroupconnector command.

-- Also ensure you are successfully able to telnet exchange 2010 server from 2003 server on port 25.

Yes I do have a routing group connector in place.

I do have a smart host configured on the SMTP virtual server (2003) but i also set it up on the 2010 server under Organization configuration -- Hub Transport --Send Connectors. Do you think that this could be my issue? If so, I am using a third part to scan my email before it is sent to my server. I thought setting it up on both servers would resolve this problem.

I did this step via Microsoft Technet a couple of days ago as i thought this may be the issue. RGC between Exchange 2003 and 2010 and recreate it using the New-Routinggroupconnector command.

I can telnet successfully to the exchange 2010 server from exchange 2003 server.
