Exchange 2007 To 2010 Migration-Old Send Connector

Hello:

Well, I think I just goofed up my migration from Exchange 2007 to 2010. Have been running for several weeks in a coexistence mode and everything has been fine. Decided to remove the old Exchange 2007 server, but did not remove the old send connector in 2010. I can't delete it now as it cannot find the original server. Local email is fine and we are receiving emails, but the are messages in the queue saying "A matching connector cannot be found to route the external recipient". Help!

Thank you. I was able to add a new Send Connector and email started flowing out. Is there any way to remove the old Send Connector that points to the old Exchange 2007 server (which is now had Exchange removed)?

Send Connectors do not belong to the servers, they are an org setting.
Exchange 2007 and 2010 Send Connectors are interchangeable. Are things greyed out on the old connector? If so then it is probably an Exchange 2003 SMTP Connector.

Simon.
Hi, Simon:
In the Organization Configuration-Hub Transport, the old Send Connector for the now departed Exchange 2007 server is visible and not greyed out. However, when I try to either disable or delete it I receive an error "The operation couldn't be performed because object "Exchange 2007 Connector" couldn't be found on Exchange2007Server.domain.com". Everything seems to be working fine, but it bugs me that I cannot remove it.
As I wrote above - SEND Connectors do not belong to a specific server, they are an org setting. Was/is the old server also a domain controller? That is the only reason I can think that you would get the error, because it shouldn't matter because they are similar.

Simon.
Hi, Simon:
The old server is an SBS 2008 server so it is a domain controller. We will be moving off of it a short while to a new domain controller.
My instinct therefore is that the error is related to the connector not being found on the domain controller. The fact that it was also the Exchange 207 server is a coincidence.
Remove the server as a DC and then restart the Exchange services. See if the connector will remove then.

Simon.
