If you log onto that user's mailbox do the emails sent to it appear in there? If so there won't be any bouncebacks or NDR's as the emails are been accepted.
Does the same happen with other disabled accounts?
If the emails are not in there then the NDR's appear to be not working as noted above.

Disabling an account does NOT stop it from receiving email. All it does is stop a user from logging in to it. Shared Mailboxes work in the same way, the underlying AD account is disabled.
Therefore the behaviour you are seeing is what I would expect.
The only way to stop it receiving email from outside sources is to remove the SMTP address, from internal resources to change the options on the account to reject the email.
Mail Flow Settings, Message Delivery Restrictions on the properties of the mailbox. Change the option to Accept Messages from only senders in the following list and then don't populate the list.

Agree with Simon. Not sure if you need to keep the mail data, but if you don't need the mailbox, but want to maintain the user account you can Disable-Mailbox.

Hi guys
Morty . Yes the email is in the sent item folder. It is happening on the disabled users too who left the company. That why our staff deos not know they left because not getting bounce Back. Even me if I try to send email to none existing mailbox and user ad not getting undelivered message.
Simon, this happening on internal /external User not getting bounce back on the disabled users.
Now if I removed SMTP can these user have access to his/her email.

You will need to an SMTP address of some kind on the account, but that could be something like user@domain.local. However removing the SMTP address will not stop internal users from being able to send email to the account. Disabling the account does NOT disable the mailbox or the ability for the mailbox to receive email.

I am not sure now, if that mean user can not get bouncing email on the disabled ad account unless if disabled on exchange.
How about if we setup OOO reply is this will work.
And what is that fast way to do that.
Thank you in advance

The method I have outlined above (changing the delivery options) will cause a bounce.
You could also create a transport rule to reject the email messages.
OOTO would be another option, you can set those through ECP when logged with someone with the required permissions.

Good help
It seems that your NDR is not working.
Go to Hub Transport\Remote Domains\Default Properties\Allow delivery reports
This will help you to send NDR emails (Bounce emails).
