550 Denied by policy (Exchange 2013)

Hi guys,

I'm having this weird problem at the moment.

I'm running Exchange 2013 on a Server 2012R2 VM.

I'm having problem sending email out to a particular domain only.
The error is simply, " 550 Denied by policy."

This is what I see when I turn on logging on the send connector.

Any clues or directions as to where i should be looking?
No such problems when sending to any other domains though (thankfully)

Thanks again in advance!

This usually means your SMTP server is blacklisted for that domain...

Check out if you are indeed: http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Hi Christophe, I can confirm that my SMTP server IP is not blacklisted using mxtoolbox's check.

I've contacted the aexp.com guys to whitelist us, but they say they are not blocking any of our e-mails.

:| Any other suggestions?

Is it just to a particular email address or the domain in general? If it's an address then it could be the user has added you to their blocked senders list (we've had loads of our clients do that without realising) which I believe results in same bounceback.
Hi Christophe, Morty500UK,

Will get the recipient to check on their end again before reverting, thanks!

Meantime, is there a possibility of our internal connectors blocking anything? Running Exchange 2013 std
They may have manually added your domain or IP to a blacklist. Your PTR record may also not match your banner. Or could be some weird content filtering on their side. Does this issue also occur if you manually telnet to them?

In my case I was able to solve this by enabling DKIM for the domain.
