mailto character limit

I am needing to use mailto to send an email from a web page.. I am using mailto because this does not run on a web server..

mailto:email@company.com?cc=email@company.com&subject=subject_here&body=body_here

this works fine for lotus notes and outlook express..

however.. if the body puts the amount of characters over 220 then the lotus notes client opens but never creates the email..
Outlook Express still works when then  character count is over 220..

Is this some limitiation of Lotus Notes.. is there a way around it..Start Free Trial
