Domino Mail Tracking/Logging Question

Asked by glebn in Lotus Domino Email Server

Tags: Lotus Notes Domino Tracking Log

Is it possible to track the origin of a message to a specific client computer? If so, where/which log should I look?

When I submit a "Tracking Request" the messages in question appears, but no client computer information is provided. I can see the Domino user, prev/next server, message id, etc. but no information which can help me identify the client computer from which the message originated.

When I look at the "Mail Routing Events" log I see entries in the log which show "Router: ... transferred to " entries for the messages in question both for internal and external delivery, but no sign of where the message came from.

In sum, all I can seem to track is what happens to the message when it leaves mail.box but no record of what computer put the file in mail.box.

The problem I am trying to solve is that messages are being sent under a persons Lotus Notes name which I know could not have originated from the person's computer because the person's computer was turned off during the times in question. I also know that webmail is not a possibility in this case. I need to know the IP or some other identifying information of the computer that is sending these messages.
