We are going to be purchasing some Blackberry devices. We decided to go with the Blackberry Professional Software, which is good for up to 30 users. It has similar characteristics to BES, but for smaller companies. The software can be installed along side the Domino server, except there is a problem.
Our main Domino server is installed on an iSeries and Blackberry documentation just assumes you've installed on your main messaging server and it just happens to be on Windows. Therefore, I have to install a separate Domino server on a Windows box and install the BB software there. The problem I have is, how do I get the Domino server on the Windows server to communicate with the Domino server on the iSeries server? IE, when an email hits the main email server (we'll call it SERVER1), how do I get it to also hit the other server (SERVER2) so that it will send out that email to the BB devices and vice versa (if somebody sends an email from their device). I know some cross certification will have to come into play. However, what I don't want to do if necessary is make the Windows Domino server a full replica of the actual email server because that will just be too much taken up in resources.
