Asked by: farhankazi

Please provide help in setting up my Lotus Domino 6.5 Server so that whenever any incoming email on the Server is received from a specific Internet domain (*@abc.com) for any user, a copy of that email is also sent to a specific email address (e.g. admin@xyz.com)

Farhan

Use Mail Journaling and Mail Rules together.
Locate the Journaling in Administrator help index, it's very well explained.

Hope this helps,

create a mail rule on gateway server;
go to configuration in domino admin-->configuration doc of gateway server & make the rule.
to held that message then you can manually play with itby going in to queue(mail.box).
This is when you dont want to journal it.

Thank you mbonaci & sukhijavikas for the comments.

@mbonaci:
Can you please guide me how do I create rules like following:

If Internet email is from Domain:                          Send email to recipient as well as copy to:
*@domain1.com.pk                                             ManagerPK@mycompany.com
*@domain2.com.au                                             ManagerAU@mycompany.com
*@domain3.com.jp                                              ManagerJP@mycompany.com

OK, open Domino Administrator and connect to your mail server by choosing File - Open server.
Then go to "Configuration" tab, on the sidebar on the left open "Messaging" section and choose "Configurations".
If there aren't any configuration documents for your server click on action "Add Configuration".

In new "Configuration Settings" document, first, "Basics" tab, put the server name in field "Group or Server name".
Go to "Router/SMTP" tab, "Restrictions and Controls", "Rules".
Click on the "New Rule" action and fill it according to image.

Now, go to tab "Router/SMTP", "Advanced", "Journaling".
There set Journaling to "Enabled", Method to "Copy to local database", Database name leave default (mailjrn.nsf) and choose yourself in field "Encrypt on behalf of user". In lower section set Method to "None".
Finally click on "Save & Close" action.

To update the configuration so you can test it, go to "Server" tab, "Status" tab and click on "Server Console" and on the right click button Live.
On the bottom, where it says "Domino command" write this:
Tell router update config
and click Enter.

Now the Router will create the Journaling database (or maybe the first mail that will satisfy the rule).
Open that db in Designer (right click on db on workspace), go to Shared code, Agents and click on New agent.
In agent properties box give it a name and set Trigger "On event" - "After new mail has arrived".
Paste into the agent the Initialize event I posted bellow.
Save and close the agent.

That's it, Uffff, I hope it'll work. Post if not...
