Public Folder Syncml Solution
I have installed the latest version of Mdaemon. I am successful in syncing my phone to the personal contacts using the syncml. When I try to do it with public folders the error says: "Cannot open database". . .I have tried everything. Any ideas?

In my experience of using SyncML utilities mail folders are not accessed via SyncML at all. You need to setup a mail account on the phone, or through the Service Providers Blackberry Control Panel if it's a Blackberry. What kind of Phone do you have? I have seen compatibility issues with IMAP on iPhones. If you are able to setup an IMAP account on your phone then there might be a Subscribe facility for you to subscribe to Public Mail Folders.
Have you tried KBA-01734 'Using SyncML with MDaemon Public Folders' on the Alt-N site? It addresses connection to public folders through Mdaemon.

SyncML is for Contacts, Calendar and ToDo lists. The standard folders for these is:-
/contacts
/calendar
/tasks
but these can be changed.
If the Public Folders are mail folders then they need to be accessed in a different way.
