Mdaemon configuration

Hello,

I have the following issue: I want to setup a Mdaemon account but the domain for example domain.com is in another server but I want just to have the email server of this domain running in my server, can you help me in configuration in both servers?

The other server is an external server? do you have this domain in a shared hosting plan and you want to move it to your mdaemon?

setup the remote server as such and add MX dns records for the domain to have forwarded to another server.
You need to handle that in the dns for domain.com add 2 record like:


domain.com.               MX 10 mail.domain.com
mail.domain.com.        A         your.ip.addr.ess

For ip access to daomin.com and any hostname therein:
domain.com.               A         mdaemon.server.ip.address
*.domain.com.            A         mdaemon.server.ip.address

Hello

its not cleared, let me explain, I have Mdaemon Pro version 7 to my server, so from a different domain lets say domainxxx.com that hosted to somewhere else I want to setup this account to my server so can send and receive emails with the address of domainxxx.com

what they did to their server dns records:
domainxxx.com  MX preference: 103600s  
               exchange: mail.mydomain.com
what I did to my server :
I just setup another account to Mdaemon as info@domainxxx.com

I'm asking what additional I have to do or/and they have to do

what is the output of:
 
dig -t mx domainxxx.com
dig -t a domainxxx.com

because a preferense of 103600s doesn't seem quite right.  Please be free to change parts of the domains/address to XXX as you whish, as long as different addresses / domains are show as such.


On your mail server you need to allow the reception of mail for domainxxx.com as well (you need to allow reception, check you mailserver logs for rejects, try to send a mail from somewhere and read the response mail sent.
