need SMTP server with regular connection

Hi,

I am using a program that asks me for smtp server to send me an email.
The problem: The program accept the smtp server name/port with username/passwd but does not have the option to open SSL connection to the server.
I have a unix server and also Gmail account both can be used as smtp server but only with SSL connection.

Do you know how to solve it ?   Is there a free smtp without ssl connection  ?  is there a freeware that serves as smtp server and direct the mail to gmail/unix and open its own SSL connection ?
