The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How long does it take to fully replicate 200MB of Public folders?

Asked by mrozman in Email Servers, Exchange Email Server, Windows 2003 Server

Tags: , , , ,

Hi all,

I have two healthy Exchange 2003 Servers, SP2.

I'm trying to replicate public folders, and have my logs cranked up high. No smart hosts implemented.  I set two small public folders up last night to replicate, about 14 hours or so ago.  It says that the source server is In Sync and that the Target Server status is, Last Modified.  If I connect to the public information store on the target server, I do not see any of the replica folders?  I see no error logs unfortunately in the event viewer.  I used a Microsoft Knowledge base article that describes all of the steps for this process.

So, my question is, does anyone know, how long this is suppose to take and why does such a small amount of data take so long to replicate?

I'm going to go through my checklist again, but all of the steps are checked off.  I've done this before in the past and had no hitches, so I'm scratching my head a bit here.

The servers are configured nearly the same in terms of applications running except that I now have IIS 6 running on the target server, whereas before it was Exchange 2003 running on Win2k and IIS 5.0.

Trend Micro Scan Mail is running on the source server, but not on the target server yet, just like last time.

Both servers are member servers, no domain controllers running on either of these servers.

What am I missing here?  This is a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain.
