Exchange 2007 and Autodiscover

Hi all, and thanks in advance for your help.
I've just installed Exchange 2007 sp1 and need assistance to make the autodiscover service work properly.
When I run test-outlookwebservices username | fl , I get the following error :
Id      : 1013
Type    : Error
Message : When contacting https://mail.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
                 received the error The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.
Id      : 1006
Type    : Error
Message : The Autodiscover service could not be contacted.
If I run a test from outlook 2007 I says that autoconfiguration was able to get my settings, and the journal tabs shows the following  :
Autodiscover to https://domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml starting
Autodiscover to https://domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x800C8203)
Autodiscover to https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
Autodiscover to https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml succeeded (0x00000000)
The outlook 2003 clients are working fine, but the outlook 2007 users cannot open out of office assistant without the error : server not available, try again later. I dont know if its related but outlook 2007 users are also stuck a popup asking for credential to the mail server and cannot login using any users but they can send/receive mail correctly.
I tried a few things that i found on this site but couldn't resolve the issue.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly I had already look at it, but went thru it again to make sure. I can test successfully the autodiscover from outlook 2007(domain and not domain joined machines), but it still fails with the same error ((401) Unauthorized) when I run test-outlookwebservices username | fl from the server. I also got  the out of office assistant not working and a popup from my mail server asking for credential everytime users press send/receive and it comes back every 10 seconds so I guess even if outlook says autodiscover is fine, it must no be working well. Would you have another suggestion of something I could try ?

The registry modification was really helpfull. It helped me pass the 401 unauthorized error so I could see where autodiscover failed. I had mixed 2 letters entering the url to my ews site in IIS. Autodiscover is now perfectly working, unfortunatly i'm still stuck with the password box poping for user/password to my mail server. When I hit cancel on this box outlook2k7 displays "password required" on the lower right corner of the window, but I can send/receive mails. Do you know how to make this password box disapear ?

you set autodiscover to either basic or ntlm .... basic will give you the pop up box and ntlm will use your domain creds or local logged in creds.

it's supposed to be set to ntlm, how can I verify this on autodiscover to make sure ?

yes i'm running exchange 2007 sp1 and ClientAuthenticationMethod shows Ntlm when I run the command.
