The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

temporily using same/both pop hosted domain on new/first exchange server migration.

Asked by dee30 in Email Servers, Network Management

I posted this already but am looking for insights from OTHERS/more then one expert I hope this time.  I'm also providing better explanation.

Our mail has been hosted pop forever. I setup new/first server 2003 exchange in our domain.
1. is it possible to 'temporarily' setup the @popdomain.com domain users to send and recieve mail from both exchange and pop?

If this is possible what pieces of the puzzle/process?

I know that you can have more then one mx record and the priority makes a difference.  I have an internal DNS server on the same network with the internal exchange resides(eventuayll will be accessible via https over the net I have a public NAT for it).   The pop mail hosting site has a dns manager screen where I see their a record pointing to their server and their mx record pointing mail. priority 10.

How can I accomplish this or is this just not doable? or is is only partial functionality, e.g. send but not recieve possible, etc...   I am thinking i have to make a mail.domain.com zone (would rather not make a domain.com b/c then my i have to route www and every other record to point to the hosted servers, too... )

Any insights/varied would be helpful.  Thanks!
