Question

Forwarding emails to blackberry(BIS) from exchange 2007

Asked by: jineshk

Hi,
I have some 5 users are using blackberry mobile and we have our exchange server 2007 and what we done is what ever email coming x.com one copy we are pushing through exchange x.blackberry, the system is working fine.
But when x receives an email where there is copy (if that emails is addressed to multiple parties) the same emails is delivering to blackberry device more than 1 times.

Then I thought the problem may be from exchange server I tried to push what ever email coming to x one copy x.hotmail.com and where it is delivering only one time.
Please advise how to resolve this issue as I have found some one also logged same question but no answer for this

A solution I found for myself, but have not tested just yet:

Once youve configured an address for your handheld device, such as JTest@myhandheldprovider.com, create a contact in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) that corresponds to that address.
After the Exchange Recipient Update Service (RUS) has run its magic and you can now see this contact in your address book, configure forwarding of messages from the users regular mailbox to the new BlackBerry contact. You will do this on the Exchange General tab of the user account. You can also set this so that messages are sent to both the BlackBerry and the mailbox, rather than just to the BlackBerry without leaving a copy in the mailbox.
Messages sent to the BlackBerry using this technique will appear as the original message, preserving all sender information. The messages will not appear as having been forwarded by another account.
As a final step, you may want to hide the BlackBerry contact from the address book, using the Exchange Advanced tab of the contact, so that regular users do not see it in the address book.

Just hazarding a guess here, so here goes;

When you have a email intended for multiple recipients in Exchange, Exchange actually splits the email into singular emails for each recipient. Your "Blackberry Forward" probably forwards each of these individual email's, where as a standard forward doesn't.

hi djxtreme

When you have a email intended for multiple recipients in Exchange, Exchange actually splits the email into singular emails for each recipient. Your "Blackberry Forward" probably forwards each of these individual email's, where as a standard forward doesn't.
THIS MAY RIGHT, BUT IS THERE ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS

please help some one to resolve this issue

by: djxtremePosted on 2008-12-17 at 06:57:18ID: 23193798

I can't think of anyway.

Besides, should you not be using BES for Blackberries and Exchange?

by: jineshkPosted on 2008-12-17 at 20:50:01ID: 23200720

no BES we doesn't require, we have only 3 to 4 blackberry users

by: jderaPosted on 2008-12-22 at 11:23:42ID: 23228814

First thing to do is verify you have the versions of BES and version of the bb device. Next thing to do is to resend the service book from the BES to the device. If still an issue, delete all the service book entries you can from the bb device and then resend again.

Let me know how it turns out.

first of all, we are not using BES, the subscription is BIS. Service book I have reset several times, still the same issue

by: jderaPosted on 2008-12-24 at 06:39:24ID: 23240182

Sorry mistype. There could be multiple reasons this is occurring? Did you check the version of the bb devices, like I mentioned above. Is it the most recent version? If so, the next steps are outlined in the below:
