Cisco 2821 tftp problems

Hi,

I have a cisco 2821 no IOS uploaded rommon1-> state.

Is impossible to upload a IOS bin file, every time I try it... timeout. File is 58MB and only loads 50.. 52 or something like this.

What can I do?

Hi,

Please remove the flash card from router, and copy the bin file from computer!
If the card is corrupted, please change it!

Hi,

I have two CF, 64 MB and 128MB.

I also have a multi card reader. I plug  both CF. Can I connect the readed and upload the file? How?

if you have noncisco cf card please format it on the router, and after put the card reader, and copy the required files to!

Hi,

64MB is a cisco CF.

128 is sandisk CF

How can I format the CF?

There are a lot of variances in tftp server software that is out there.  Some of them just don't work so well on bigger files.  Try tftpd32 this one works well on large files.  It could be the flash, but I have seen what you are describing on many different tftp servers.  Here is a link to the dload page for tftpd32:

There is a serious problem loading files over 32 Megs using tftp.  I would recommend loading an ios smaller than 32 megs using the rmon tftp, reload to ios, and then using the ios "copy ftp flash"  to download the image you want to use.
