I am trying to add the CAS role to an existing Exchange 2010 server which has the mailbox role installed and is part of a simple DAG. I received the following error after choosing change in Program and Features for Exchange:<br />

I looked in the event logs using the custom views and see nothing related. Exchange is on SP1 and Update rollup 8. Server is 2008R2.<br />

Am I looking in the wrong log? Is anyone aware of what would cause the installer to throw this message? Thanks.

Trying to add role to Exchange 2010 SP1

Within Internet message handling services (MHS), a message transfer agent or mail transfer agent (MTA) or mail relay is software that transfers electronic mail messages from one computer to another using a client–server application architecture. A MTA implements both the client (sending) and server (receiving) portions of the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).
