I think my exchange server is unsecure and dont know how to fix it

Zones: Exchange Email Server, Email Servers, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)
Tags: MS, Exchange, 2003
I keep getting email bouced back saying it was underliverable on email that I never sent.  This is happening to a lot of my users. If you look at the subject line in all of them, it is DEFINATELY spam, so I think someone is using my server to send out email that is not authorized and we are going to get black listed if it doesnt stop.

That is NDR Spam, someone is sending mail pretending to be from you, but they are not doing your server to do it.

There are few things you can do about it other than get a good spam filter.

http://www.gfi.com for MailSecurity and MailEssentials - they combat it pretty well.  Unfortunately, there is no golden bullet.

As kieran says, probably likely to be spoofed mails appearing to come from yourself, but not.

As a precaution, I would check if your Exchange is an open relay though;

Go to www.abuse.net/relay.html to find out if your Exchange is Open Relay.

Read the Article and have settings correctly set to not relay.  But i did have a question.  If I am looking at my defualt Virtual SMTP server and looking in "current connections" and I see an odd "user" listed could this be the problem?
