The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. SMTP is too slow

I work for a cable TV company. We have a standard monthly procedure where we send newsletters, weekly programs, and others via email to our subscribers (about 750,000 subscribers).

We have a dedicated web server with T3 channel and an SMTP service configured to send from two valid domains (valid -from - emails accounts are used on another qmail-dedicated server).

My main problem is that the web server is too slow while sending emails. Last night (5-30-2003), our mail application tried to send this month’s account statements to 120,000 subscribers.
It started at 6:00 pm, and after 14 hours I found about 75000 emails in queue  folder not delivered yet!
