Sending and receiving error

I am using IncrediMail - clone of Outlook.  Yesterday, I attempted to send an email to a recipient that was listed on my mail server as a user in the past but was migrated to a different ISP as that is where the domain is hosted.  I received a 550 error user unknown.  I did notice that there is still a file in the /var/spool/mail folder for this user even though I deleted them from the server.

My mail program hangs now attempting to recieve and I get an error message:
" Task 'mail.midav.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'  "

I have attempted to add that user to my email accounts, delete it and delete then readd my default email account but still get the same error message.  I can go to Outlook and retrieve message but never gets to the send portion.  Help, not sure how to overcome this. Start Free Trial
