My system administrator quit due to personal reasons, and I am trying to learn his job. Which has been a difficult process. I am trying to add email addresses to the virtusertable file to be forwarded. But its not yet working.
I've located virtusertable and added the line:
@superiordesign.com user@example.com
*Note - I've put in the real email in place of user@example.com, I just don't want it to scraped and spammed.
I've ran the code in putty:
makemap hash /etc/mail/virtusertable.db
< /etc/mail/virtusertable
*Note - I've checked and confirmed that the file virtusertable.db has been updated.
And I have even tried restarting sendmail in putty:
service sendmail restart
But cannot figure out what else needs to be done to make it work. My last system administrator was using this file to add email addresses, however they were all for the same domain "echoboost.com". Am I okay to add this new domain "superiordesign.com"?
