Configuring DNS/Sendmail so that e-mail that matches the internal domain name will resolve externally.

Asked by truacc in SendMail Email Server, Fedora Linux

Tags: Fedora, Fedora Core, 7, sendmail/mx issue

I am having problems sending e-mails via sendmail to my external domain (i.e. - mydomain.com).  I believe this is because the external domain name matches the internal domain name.  E-mails can route to any other domain just fine and this used to work until I configured a primary DNS server (BIND).

How do I configure BIND or sendmail so that e-mails to mydomain.com don't try to resolve internally?

Here's the error message I am receiving from /var/log/maillog when sending e-mails to mydomain.com;Start Free Trial
