Hi,

Can some one please let me know why I am getting this error?

bash-3.00#  ./setup -nodisplay

.....java installation goes here with all options..... then...

check for clues in the logfiles (<serverroot>/slapd-hostname/logs)

Did you read the prerequisites in the release notes ? Did you check/apply any OS patches as described in the release notes or installation manual ?

did you try to start the server with the serverroot/slapd-hostname/start-slapd script and then check the errors log ?

sorry guys I've been on vacation all this time.

Its Solaris 10 running on x86.

ok, I was succesful insalling LDAP, I guess the trick was that I had install it with Root.

Now I have another problem.

# ServerRoot/slapd-serverID/start-slapd

# ServerRoot/start-admin

#  ServerRoot/startconsole  

Once the window pops I try to Log in using the user ID and password for the LDAP administrator. For example, I type cn=Directory Manager and the appropriate password and then click OK. It says that the user account is invalid. I tried Root and other accounts but nothing. How can I reset the user name and password without re-installing.
