I don't know is it via ip or name. Which would be easier and how to check which is it?
There is no firewall on RIS-server.

Browse All TopicsI've installed RIS to server2003 and made ris-image from xp with risetup.exe.
Server is a domain controller, DNS and DHCP are working. (DHCP distributes ip's based on MAC-address).
Workstation hardware:
NIC: realtek rtl8139 and i checked out that it supports PXE.
BIOS: amibios 3.31a
MOTHERBOARD:MS-6547
When booting workstation, the following text is displayed: Network boot: F12
I press F12 but It can't connect to ris- server.
What's the problem?

I tried to acces ris server from different computer and it did work out.
The computers motherboard is: Intel Entry Server Board s875WP1-E
Problem now is that the ris-image doesn't contain the nic drivers for that MB.
Error message says that the chosen Operating system does not contain your NIC's device driver. Installation cannot continue.
I tried this: http://technet2.microsoft.
(Adding Plug and Play Drivers to a RIS Image).
But the error message stays the same.
I also read the article: Adding Text Mode Drivers to a RIS Image, because i don't know are the NIC drivers plug'n play or text-mode. It would seem that they are plug'n play.
I've copied the drivers to these folders:
D:\RemoteInstall\Setup\Fin
D:\RemoteInstall\Setup\Fin
In the RISTNDRD.SIF I've tried the following settings:
OemPnPDriversPath = "Drivers\NIC"
OemPnPDriversPath=”\\%SERV
OemPnPDriversPath=”\\%SERV
But the error message still states that drivers cannot be found
This solved the NIC driver question: http://support.microsoft.c
But the original problem from first question still exists.
