We had to reboot our exchange server this morning due to disk issues and it would have been beneficial to "deliver to desktop" a notification of the work and when the system was back up.
I do not like the idea of net send, opening the client firewalls for it would allow internal transmition between users. Is there software that can
1. sit in the system tray and allow only domain admins to send notifications to it.
2. not allow user to disable or edit any settings.
3. Silently installable via GPO.
Preferable freeware.
Thanks in advance.
