User Data Migration - Local Profile to Domain Profile

Asked by jbisordi in Active Directory, Windows XP Operating System

I have a tough one!

I have 200 users all logging into their workstations locally using unique userames and passwords. All workstations are part of a workgroup. I need to make the workstations members of the domain, have the users log into their PC's with domain user accounts, and maintain the user data (desktop items, files in My Documents, Start Menu, etc.).

Luckily there is a common admin account on the workstations, so I will be using Altiris to automate the domain joining...but how the heck would I go about transferring the user data from the local profile to the new domain user profile?Start Free Trial
