Browse All TopicsHi we have a 3 x Server 2003 on the same domain and the main one is coming up with an occasional;
The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer <Vista Business Workstation> that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{DF23E0D5-646E
The machine giving the announcement is a basic Vista Business workstation running a staff clocking in system.
I have seen noted in many posts that disabling the Computer Browser service stops this error, however what else does it stop, we certainly need to be able to browse the Vista WS across the network to extract data from the clocking in system.
Cheers

You will still be able to access file shares using SMB. The Computer Browser service just stops the workstation automatically scouring the LAN for other machines & updating it's "Network Places" list.
