FSMO Roles - Best Practices?

Asked by master_windu in Active Directory, Windows 2000 Server

Hello

I am trying to determine what if any changes we need to make to our current Windows 2000 active directory fsmo role holders.
Currently we have 3 of the 5 roles on one server in Core Site A and the other 2 roles on a server in Core Site B.
Both of these servers also function as the file/print/app servers for users in their respective locations.

Is this setup not ideal and what are Microsofts best practices for FSMO role holders.  Should the roles be on a dedicated server?

Thanks
