The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Errors on Exchange 2007 concerning Active Directory & PDC

Asked by jwilliams7 in Active Directory, Exchange Email Server, Domain Name Service (DNS)

I am having a couple of errors coming from my event viewer on my new Exchange 2007 Server and need to get them corrected.  Below are a couple of them that are having affects on my new 2007 server:

Event ID 2064:
Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGY (PID=3384). When updating security for a remote procedure call (RPC) access for the Exchange Active Directory Topology service, Exchange could not retrieve the security descriptor for Exchange server object SATURN2 - Error code=80070005.
The Exchange Active Directory Topology service will continue with limited permissions.

Event ID 2112:
Process MAD.EXE (PID=2448). The Exchange computer Saturn2.hq.pcma.org does not have Audit Security Privilege on the domain controller Earth.hq.pcma.org. This domain controller will not be used by Exchange Active Directory Provider.

Event ID 2114:
Process STORE.EXE (PID=5444). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040a02 (DSC_E_NO_SUITABLE_CDC). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185, "Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers.

These are mainly the only ones I am recieving and they all seem to be Exchange, AD and PDC related.  Is it possible that we coud go through correcting each ID and try to figure out why this is happening?Start Free Trial
