I am absolute beginner to Group Policy and am having difficulty understanding why a particular Group Policy I've created is not being implemented as I imagined it would. Here's the setup:
Two servers (AD & Terminal Services respectively, both Win2K) and about 25 users.
Default Domain Policy has Shutdown enabled so local users can shut down their machines. Users are in their own OU.
The two servers are in their own OU, and I've applied a created GP that specifically takes away the Shutdown option and that's all. I've enabled No Override for this policy so that the Default Domain Policy should not (or so I thought) grant Shut Down privilges to the servers in this OU.
Obviously, it's not working that way. Shut Down is still being granted to users who log into the Term Serv server. I'm trying to follow best practice here as part of my self-education on Group Policy, so I'd really like to understand why this setup isn't working.
Thanks.
